Treat Mum to a Lush Mother’s Day

I’m a little sad that Valentine’s is now over, but with Lush you never really wait long for some exciting new products! Mother’s Day is just around the corner (6th March this year) and, as usual, they have us sorted with a fantastic new range of goodies. Whether you’re looking for your mum, or you just fancy a little treat for yourself, why not pop along to your local store for a wee nosey?

The first of the new products to catch my eye was the ‘Ladybird’ Bubble Bar (£3.95). I love anything ladybird related (I even have one tattooed on my foot), so this was an obvious choice to be first in the basket. Like most of the bubble bars, you can usually get more than one bath out of them, so I still have some saved for another day. The bar easily crumbles and turns the water a wonderfully deep shade of red. Despite the main ingredients being geranium and peppermint oils, the fragrance emerging from the bath was deliciously fruity – I’m not sure how they’ve done it, but it’s gorgeous!

Next was the ‘Sunrise’ Soap (£4.25 per 100g). Not usually a fan of orange scents, I was a little apprehensive at first, but the combination of mandarin, tangerine and bergamot oils work perfectly together and produce a surprisingly subtle aroma. Hidden beneath the glittery orange exterior are secret deposits of murumuru butter, which serve as a wonderfully creamy moisturiser, perfect for mine and Paul's dry skin. All the glitter is also completely free of plastic and 100% biodegradable, so we are keeping the fishes happy!

The last on my list of treats was the ‘Yummy Mummy’ Shower Cream (£4.95 per 100g). I remember this one from last year, but the lovely girl in the shop informed me that it’s now been upgraded from a gel to a cream – perfect for leaving my skin extra smooth! The smell is similar to the ‘Ladybird’ Bubble Bar (possibly due to the geranium oil), but also with an added sweetness (from the tonka absolute ingredient). Similarly to the ‘Prince Charming’ Shower Cream from the Valentine’s collection, you only need a very small amount to create a good lather, making this last much longer than gels.

Finally, as an extra for my shopping trip, I picked up one of the new ‘Flowering Tea’ Reusable Bubble Bars (£4.95). Packed full of beautiful blue cornflowers, this really does provide a unique bathing experience. As is typical with the reusable bars, there were less bubbles than I expected, but I was assured that you could probably manage five baths out of the product (although not all containing flowers). This one was a treat for a friend, so I had to make do with an in store demonstration – I can’t wait to get one and turn my bath into its own little tea pot!

Is there anything else you’ve got your eye on in the Mother’s Day range? A couple of the gift sets include exclusive products which are not available for individual purchase – hopefully my kids pick up on my not-so-subtle hints!
