5 Inconvenient Truths About Being A Teen Mum

I’ve mentioned about being a teen parent in previous posts, but for those of you who don’t know... I became pregnant with my first child while still in high school. It probably wasn’t the smartest life choice for me, however, I don’t feel like I have been held back from anything important. I still managed to finish all my high school exams and get into a fantastic university. I also managed to graduate with a 2:1 degree and secure a place as a PhD student.

Nevertheless, I thought I would share with you some of the more inconvenient aspects I have encountered after deciding to raise a family at a young age:

Lush Valentine’s Mini Splurge

If you know me, you will understand my Lush obsession! With the launch of the new Valentine’s range, I just couldn’t resist a trip to my local store to stock up on some new goodies! Money is a bit tight with the wedding this year, so I only picked up a few items – I would have gone mad if I’d not restrained myself!

5 Ways To Make 2016 My Year

I’ve been waiting for 2016 for what seems like ages, this should be the best and most exciting year of my life. I wanted to start the year with a bang, raring to go with all my wonderful ideas – my depression had other plans. I’ve only struggled with mental illness for just over a year, but it makes the simplest of tasks often seem impossible. When I heard about this recent blog hop linkup (see my last blog hop post for an example), I took it as an opportunity to remind myself what I have to look forward to this year…

Netflix and Thrill

We’re all familiar with the other saying… but that’s not what’s going on here! Seriously though, it’s amazing that I’d not discovered this fantastic source of ‘on-demand’ TV before! Yeah, I’ve known the service existed, but I always dismissed it as inferior to Sky, which has its own built in On Demand section. I finally succumbed this weekend, however, when a friend came round and told me I MUST watch ‘Making a Murderer’.

Surprise Visits and Spontaneous Geocaching

I love it when I get a surprise message from some friends, asking if I’m busy. It’d come to the end of the holidays and I was wasting the remainder of my free time lounging around in my PJs - the promise of a visit was a welcome relief! Money is often tight straight after Christmas so Andy and Nikki suggested we should do a spot of Geocaching, given that this is a completely free activity and also has the added benefit of giving us all some fresh air!

Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award

A couple of nights ago, I was woken by the raging winds of Storm Frank and noticed I had been tagged in a tweet – OneDizzyBee had nominated me for the Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award! I’ve only been blogging for just over a month, so this came as a bit of a shock as I had no idea people were actually reading my ramblings! Therefore I’d just like to say a huge thanks for including me!
