Last Saturday, The Body Shop on Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow had a grand re-opening. The store had recently been refurbished and staff were keen to show off their new look to the public. Being a huge fan of their products (especially anything coconut scented) I jumped at the chance to be part of this event. The first 100 customers received a special goodie bag, so I was quick to queue for the store opening at 10am.
Upon walking through the front door, I was impressed by how clean and bright everything appeared. Gone are some of the wooden surfaces and, in their place, bright white shelving units and tables. Everything is well organised and it is very easy to locate your favourite treats. If you find yourself in need of any help, the staff are super friendly and eager to answer any of your beauty related questions.
I was offered tea or coffee, then promptly whisked off for a hand massage at their new ‘Body Care Bar’, where they show off all the wonderful products from their spa range. Inspired by exotic locations, you can create the ultimate relaxation experience in your own home with treatments from far off places such as Morocco and Japan. I was tempted by a tub of African Ximania Scrub (£18) – perfect for softening and removing dry skin.
Another new addition is their ‘Skincare Station’. Hidden from direct view of passing shoppers, you are given the illusion of privacy while still remaining on the shop floor. Equipped with an iPad, a trained skincare expert will take you through a questionnaire related to any concerns you have for your skin and any current beauty regimes you follow. After taking into consideration the time you have available to spend on treatments, you are quickly presented with products suited to your skin type and daily schedule. In our modern world, we often lead very fast-paced lives, so anything which helps to speed up our shopping experience can be seen as a bonus!
Feeling well and truly pampered – and more informed than I had been an hour previously - I grabbed a couple of my favourite products and headed for the till. While paying for my coconut hand cream and strawberry body butter, I was also signed up to the Love Your Body™ Club - the loyalty scheme offered by The Body Shop. Since the last time I was a member, the scheme has now become free to join and offers a great selection of member benefits.
Has your local Body Shop had a makeover recently? Have you tried any of the new services they have to offer? For those local to Glasgow, get yourself along to the Sauchiehall Street store and investigate the change for yourself - you might even find something to treat yourself with!
I love The Body Shop and how they keep their stores so fresh and set the trends with organic products. I'm sure you've enjoyed the pampering too :)

DeleteWe have a new Body Shop in Birmingham and this looks very similar, a really lovely pampering space.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the change definitely makes the whole place seem more welcoming! :)
DeleteMy local Body Shop doesn't have any of these bits but I do love going in there, especially as there are always great deals on the products x
ReplyDeletePerhaps your local store will also get revamped soon, then you will get to enjoy these stations too :)
DeleteSounds like a great game for families.
ReplyDeleteI think this may be on the wrong post, if you are referring to my Randomise review, yeah it is a great game for families! :)
